Dr Tholen
Dr. Tholen is the president of
Minneapolis Plastic Surgery, Ltd., and has been associated with MPS since
he completed seven years of surgical training at the Mayo Clinic in 1987.
He has completed additional training in cosmetic surgery, breast surgery,
suction-assisted lipoplasty and ultrasonic lipoplasty, and laser surgery.
He served as co-director for laser education at Abbott Northwestern Hospital
and was co-chairman for annual courses in Cutaneous Laser Surgery taught
at Abbott's Laser Center, Minimally Invasive Care Center, and Center for
Cosmetic Care. As a faculty member of Laser Centers of America, he has
taught numerous courses nationally, and has been an invited instructor
in Seoul, Korea.

Dr Gervais
A Twin Cities native, Dr. Gervais
joined Minneapolis Plastic Surgery in 1996. Dr. Gervais is fully trained
in all aspects of plastic and reconstructive surgery. Throughout his education
he has excelled in cosmetic surgery, and has obtained advanced specialized
training in body contouring, laser surgery, and breast surgery. While
at Vanderbilt University, he studied under the country's pioneer in ultrasonic
body contouring, and participated in research to develop and advance ultrasonic
body contouring. His private practice is aesthetic as well, with special
expertise in breast surgery, ultrasonic liposuction, and facial cosmetic
surgery.

Cosmetic Surgery
Most cosmetic surgery procedures
are performed at Minneapolis Plastic Surgery's free-standing, state-of-the-art,
office surgical center at the main office in Golden Valley, Minnesota.
The clinic's main facility includes three fully-equipped operating rooms,
complete anesthesia care, treatment and minor procedure room, individual
preparation and recovery areas, aesthetic suites, post-operative massage
therapy, aesthetic area, and on-site surgical and cosmetic laser services.

Liposuction
Suction-assisted lipectomy , or liposuction,
uses a mechanical suction to break up and remove fat. Surgeons combine
these techniques including "tumescent" or "super-wet"
lipoplasty, depending upon the individual case. With ultrasonic body
contouring, patients can often return to work within a few days, depending
upon the extent of the surgery. As with traditional liposuction, fat
cells are removed permanently.

Tummy Tuck
The Tummy tuck, (Abdominoplasty)
procedure can help rid you of the extra weight around the abdominal
area when diet and exercise just aren't enough. a tummy tuck can help
you achieve a firmer, flatter abdominal profile. As a result of pregnancy,
weight gain, genetics or other factors, the abdominal skin may become
loose and wrinkled. Excessive fatty tissue and loose skin are removed
from the middle and lower sections of the abdomen.

Facelift
The Facelift (rhytidectomy) is
a surgical procedure used to smooth the loose skin on your face and
neck, and to reduce the most apparent signs of aging in the facial area,
giving you a more youthful appearance. The procedure involves reducing
the creases from the nose and mouth, the slacking jaw line and sagging
jowls and fat deposits around the neck by removing excess fat and tightening
underlying muscles, and redraping the skin on the face and neck. Though
the procedure cannot give you a completely new look it can give you
a younger, fresher look, and can also have a positive effect on your
self-confidence.
