Case 1: Calf Augmentation (Calf Enlargement with Implants)

This 23 year-old banker is a fit, athletic body builder who was referred from the Mayo Clinic to Minneapolis Plastic Surgery for calf implants. He underwent placement of soft, solid silicone implants (2 per side, custom configured for his anatomy) to enlarge the medial and lateral heads of his gastrocnemius (calf) muscles. The general anesthetic operation took just over an hour, and after another hour in our recovery room, he returned to a friend's home here in Minneapolis. After recheck the following morning, her returned to his home in Rochester, Minnesota.
