Case 3: Laser Resurfacing (Facial Laser)

This patient is a 62 year-old woman who came to Minneapolis Plastic Surgery with concerns about facial lines and wrinkles. She hoped to reduce the sun damage and severity of the lines on her face. She understands that facelift will do little to improve the wrinkles around her eyes and mouth, and is more concerned about the surface of her skin. She underwent full-face laser resurfacing under general anesthesia as an outpatient operation. The 21-day post-op photograph shows her with no makeup so you can assess the light pink coloration of her skin at that stage of healing. Normal (or no) makeup is fine at this point.

Type of laser: combination Erbium:YAG-CO2 laser (Derma-K)
