Case 3: Laser Tattoo Removal
These are two examples of tattoos that are not able to be removed with any technique presently available. Though the panther tattoo is dark ink only (the best for removal), and is technically able to be removed with the Q-switched Nd:YAG laser, the sheer size of the tattoo, and the fact that multiple treatments are needed for maximum ink removal, make this tattoo inappropriate for removal. This is true even if the patient had limitless financial resources, as the time necessary for even one complete tattoo treatment would be multiple hours. The same is true for a colorful tattoo, as blue and green inks are much harder to remove and would take even more (and longer) laser sessions.
